Glucose Test Results

Well, since I didn't receive a call this morning I called my doctor's office to see if I could find out the results from my test yesterday. My doctor was out today so I had to call the on call nurse.

And...drum roll please.......I PASSED! Whew b/c I was sort of worried. I am so happy!

Snow, Snow...GO AWAY!!

And....yet another day of that dreadful white stuff I HATE! Will it ever end? I think we got a little more than 5 inches today and there is more to come. Ugh!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

"Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it."
Romans 12:9 (MSG)

Kevin surprised me with a dozen pink roses when I got home from work. I so didn't expect them since he gave me a dozen red roses for my birthday in January. We don't always do Valentine's Day. Oh..and what a wonderful daddy. He gave Madison the cutest light pink and hot pink puppy (cutest stuffed animal puppy EVER) and a book. What a great daddy!

Madison was so happy it was Valentine's Day. She impressed us by doing all the Valentine's Day cards for her class...all 13 children. She had to write her name no matter how it looked according to her teacher..well that was easy. Than I figured, she might as well try and write the children's names too...she did them all..except that I had to write any Js, Ks, or Ys. You could read them too...Yay Maddie! She was so cute in her Valentine's outfit...and so happy to be having a party at school. Oh..and her "boyfriend" Kalon gave her a special Valentine. He gave her the same card and pencil that he gave the other children but he gave her a chocolate cupcake lollipop as well.....he didn't give anyone else one. Well, Madison and Kalon both want to marry each other.....and so it starts. It is cute though...

Happy Valentine's Day to ALL of you!!!

Doctor's Appointment Today

Today I had my 1 hour glucose/gestational diabetes test. I really don't mind the drink...I always choose the cola one but I almost went for the fruit punch one. I figured I better stick with what I had last time since I drank it fast and it didn't bother me. The nurse was impressed because I drank it so fast. After that I sat in the waiting room and read books to Madison. After 30 minutes I went and met with my doctor for the typcial every 4 week appointment. Everything looks good. Than back to the waiting room. After an hour passed I went back in and had my blood drawn. Madison was so interested in everything that was going on. The nurse told her to sit in the chair in the waiting area...next thing we knew Madison had scooted the chair around the partial wall and almost right next to me. Well..she was still sitting in the chair the nurse told her to sit in...the nurse never told her she couldn't move the chair..just that she could sit there. :o) Oh..Miss Mads - you are so clever! They will call me tomorrow morning with my results. Than they gave me my 2 free diaper bags..from Enfamil and Similac. Gotta love free stuff. The best part..they are black...not bad...considering when I had Madison I only got one and it was yellow with something on it..bunnies maybe. Anyway, I am hoping I passed the test. I don't go back for 4 weeks. Thank goodness because I thought for sure it was about time to start going every 2 weeks..and I just don't want to do that yet....they don't do much anyway...

Can It Get Any Colder?

BRRRRRRRRR......

I so can't wait for winter to be OVER. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

We have had such a busy weekend. My doctor gave me strict orders to rest due to the major swelling of my legs, ankles, feet, and even toes. It was awful. They think it is from riding in the car to Chicago and back and sitting so much at the funeral home. But, we had so much going on that it was nearly impossible to rest much.

Yesterday I worked just over 4 hours..gotta love tax season. While I was at work Madison had dance at 9am and also at 11:00am. The 9am is her normal time on Saturdays but the 11:00am was a make-up session because she missed last Saturday. After all that...we all rested quite a bit. :o)

Today.....well since it was Sunday......we had church. Our church was pretty empty......that was because of the weather. It was -41 degrees with the windchill. Ugh! Ugh again! It was hard to get out in that nasty weather. But, we had a guest preacher who was amazing. I loved watching our guests sign to the music (a choir that travels with the guest preacher). Also, the guest preacher signs as she preaches. Her sermon was awesome. Today was the first day that Madison went to Sunday School. She normally just wants to sit with us but since she is four we felt she should really start going. She loved it.

After church, we drove to Oostburg to visit Kevin's parents, his sister, and her husband. We thought they would have so much more snow than we have here by Appleton but it looked like they had the same. It was hard to believe they had just gotten 21 inches in one day last week. However, on the way to their house the wind was blowing so much snow over the roads. There were spots where it was a complete white out and we were going 5 mph on the highway. You couldn't even see the person in front of us. I would never want to drive in that. Thanks Kevin! I did sit in the back so I could have my feet up the entire time. We had a nice time and Madison loved being at Grandma and Pop Pop's house.
