Dermatofibroma Update

Well, we received a letter in the mail from our health insurance. It was actually a carbon copy of the letter they sent to the plastic surgeon. The letter indicated that before they can consider benefits, they need the doctor to provide the provider tax id number/name and address. Well, I hope they follow up with this promptly. At least we know that something has been started. We weren't sure how long this was going to take since the plastic surgeon just relocated to a new building. Things don't always go smoothly when that happens.

I was looking at the pictures I posted of Madison's first day of preschool. If you click on the photo of her standing by the white fence (making the picture larger) you can actually see the dermatofibroma on her left arm. Now just looking again..you can actually see it in several of the photos of Maddie...

We just hope that we hear back soon that we can proceed and have this removed.

How Did The First Day Of Preschool Go?

Well, that is a very good question...we (mommy & daddy) are still waiting to hear.

All she kept saying was that she didn't want to talk about school. Okay, not good on the first day.

Eventually, here is what we found out. She had pudding and milk for snack. She played outside on the swing. She played with the play kitchen and the cabinet had lots of play food in it. The teacher did tell Daddy when he picked Maddie up that they painted but Madison denies it.

More First Day of Preschool

Momma had to take pictures outside once we got to preschool...oh I mean pretty school. Okay, so the hair band didn't want to stay put in her hair.

She didn't waste any time once inside. She started activities right away. Momma went to leave and just outside the door she starting calling Momma. Momma told her she had to leave and she said she wanted hugs and kisses....more than what she got. :o)

First Day of Preschool

I just don't know how anyone could be more excited than our Maddie. She has wanted to go to school for...forever. She was so proud to finally be old enough to go to "pretty school."

Preschool Visitation Day

Today was Preschool Visitation Day at Madison's Preschool. This was a time for the children to get to know each other, the room, the teacher, the activities, and just basically what a day at Preschool would be like. It was also a time for the teacher to get to know the children and become familiar with their parents. Visitation was one hour and they did a lot in that one hour.

Once we (Daddy, Mommy, and Maddie) arrived at Preschool, Madison had to make a name tag for herself and Mommy. She decorated the name tag with markers and stickers. Mommy helped her tie the knots.

Next the children got to know the room and did several activities. This is the discovery table and every week it is filled with something different - sometimes it even has man-made snow in it. Today it had colored pasta. When Madison did her scavenger hunt and the question was "what is in the discovery table?" - Madison answered "Macaroni & Cheese." So Mommy wrote Macaroni and Cheese down. :o)

They had group time twice during this one hour. This is a time when the children need to be quiet and turn on their ears so that they can listen to the teacher. The teacher read them a story, taught them a song, and talked to them about preschool. Each time they had group time Madison picked this comfy chair..and if the foot stool was in front of it she propped up her legs. Yep, that is our daughter. Here she is all comfy and most of the children didn't even try to get this seat...they just sat on the floor.
The children also had their picture taken, decorated their birthday cupcake (which will be used on their birthday), and played on the computer. Madison enjoyed every minute of it.

Her official first day of preschool is on September 6th. She will have preschool every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am to 11:15am. She is so ready!
