Girls Night Out-Pedicures

Tonight was Girls Night Out. We weren't sure if we were going to get together in May or not. I didn't think I would for sure. But, the girls thought we could go get pedicures today and I would be able to make it. Plus, I wanted a pedicure before I had the baby. So, I hope it lasts. I have to admit I have never ever had a pedicure. I am hooked! :o) I was not the only one out of the 6 of us that went that was a pedicure virgin...

Our appointment was at 7pm. They have 8 chairs and we were told they could accommodate us all at once. That is why we chose this place. Wow, it was so relaxing. Of course, I felt bad for the woman doing mine because my feet and legs and ALL my swelling. Anyway, come to find out. She was the owner. Well, she owns it with her sister. She was awesome! Her name was Tu and evidently very popular. So lucky lucky LUCKY me! I got extra attention. I would definitely go back and I said I would never go anywhere else. The environment and the people were great. We did find out we could bring our own beverages but they can't serve without a license...we said we would go back. I figured the owner was the only one who would want to touch my nasty swollen feet and legs. ;o) Anyway, they told me the cost of my pedicure and I gave my debit card. The guy came back with the receipts to sign and it was lower than what he told me. I told him that it must not be mine and he said...Tu gave you a discount. I turned around and told her I loved her...I am known for saying..."oh I love you." I am weird! Anyway, I told her she didn't need to do that but she insisted. I gave her a bigger tip. She said to come back after I have the baby and I told her I would. I even told her I was moving in with her...I was so relaxed and probably was talking some prego lingo...but man it was nice.

My toes look so cute...I love the color and my big toes have fun flowers on them with rhinestones in the middle. I had such a hard time trying to take off the flip flops they put on me and than I couldn't get my own flip flops on so they let me take theirs home. They were so nice. They close at 8pm but I don't think we left until 9pm. I don't know why I have never had a pedicure..they are awesome. And my legs and feet are so soft........but they are still SWOLLEN.

Anyway..it was a fun but very relaxing night...much needed.

38 Week Appointment

Well..my appointment was what I expected but not what I had hoped for. No change...nothing going on. They checked my blood pressure several times which kind of alarmed me. They are concerned about my swelling. But, in the end my blood pressure is not that high compared to normal. I look as if I have preeclampsia. It is pretty severe swelling. I am measuring 40 weeks. Usually I have been measuring a week ahead but two? Yikes. Here is hoping for a baby that isn't too big. :o) Baby is still pretty high. How frustrating but mainly because I am sick of the swelling. I go back on May 7th at 3:30pm. Oh, my doctor said he would offer to induce me but won't since nothing is going on. (I don't really want to be induced. I just want baby to come when the baby is ready.)

It's Official - I Have A Niece On My Side..Finally!

On April 28th at 4pm Roxanna Faye Nickolite-Fowler was officially adopted by my sister (Jarrett) and her husband (Shawn). She has lived with my sister since her birthday, June 12. 2007. It was a long process but we are so happy that it is official. They finally have a daughter after 3 boys. It is nice having a niece on my side of the family and we love Roxie so much. I have attached a photo of her and her friend. Roxie is in the blue dress. She is so cute! I love love love the fact that her and Maddie are the same age...just 4 months apart. Congrats Jarrett, Shawn, Michael, Caleb, and Reiden on your wonderful addition to your family!!

Special Hat For Baby

My friend made the cutest hat for the baby. I was hoping she would make me a hat after seeing different ones she has made in the past. She said I couldn't go into labor until it was done. Well, she brought it to me today. But, I think I still have many days left. Thanks Dawn (Rich, Anna, & Will too)...we love it and baby will too!!

2 Weeks 2 Go!!

Wow, I can't believe my due date is 14 days away. Of course, according to the ultrasound..it could be earlier. And...I could deliver later. The good thing...not much longer and baby will be here. Are we ready? Nope......maybe we will be soon. :o)

Dinner With Friends

Our next door neighbors (a couple and their daughter) called us yesterday just after 5pm to see if we wanted to go out to eat with them. It has been months since we went out with just them. I think the last time was my (Melanie's) birthday. Anyway, we ended up going to O'Charley's since Kevin, Madison, and I haven't eaten there yet. The food was really good. We had a great time. We all think that might have been our last night out before the baby arrives.
