Surprised At Work

Well, yesterday started out terribly bad. If it was not one thing it was another. I called into work to let them know I was running late. I almost called back to tell them I wasn't going to be in. But, I haven't called in this pregnancy and don't want to either. I didn't call in when I was pregnant with Madison either.

Anyway, I did finally manage to arrive at work. And than it was rush around to do stuff before our meeting that was moved up by 10 minutes. Well....little did I know the reason it was moved up was because my coworkers surprised me with baby gifts. I was so surprised...shocked. It was so unexpected but so appreciated. They also put together a pig-out for me. And...in all that rushing around I walked by the food how many times? Enough...let's leave it at that. I work with so many great people. (I think the main reason I was shocked was because when I was pregnant with Maddie my coworkers didn't do this stuff for me. But, even though I work on the same team...I work with different people...not many are the same from back at that time.)

Anyway, I am glad I went into work...I would have felt bad after they arranged all of this. Oh, and it was bring your child to work day. I brought one of my children.......the one still baking in my tummy. ;o)

Anyway, the day turned out so much better than it started.

37 Week Appointment

How frustrating appointments can be........I dislike them! My last appointment was 12 days ago...but now I have to start going weekly...so far I have been going monthly. Anyway, baby is still only somewhat engaged. I haven't started to dilate...so nothing going on. How aggravating! Nothing happened when I was pregnant with Madison but I was hoping this time around it would. I am severely swollen but since my blood pressure and everything is fine they can't do anything. Today I am so swollen and my feet look purple......it is horrible! It took forever to find the heartbeat but only because baby is moving so much. When my doctor went to check me......the baby jumped back up...basically the baby's head moved back up.........ahhhhhhhhhhh how frustrating!! My doctor said that usually in 2nd pregnancies you don't drop until labor is about to begin or begins and you don't dilate until that time as well........anyway..........I wait....... and.. wait........... but not much longer right? If I didn't have swelling issues I could enjoy this pregnancy more. And...I really wouldn't want to go too early....just when the baby is ready. I just don't know how much longer I can handle the swelling. I go back next Wednesday.

Surprise Baby Shower

Saturday Kevin & I were suppose to go to my friend/neighbor's surprise 33rd birthday party. This was planned like 4 months ago. One of the girls I get together with every month wanted to have a party for her husband. I had asked her why for his 33rd and she said.......because he would not expect it for his 33rd. Okay. Anyway, she had emailed me on Monday asking if we were going to make it and I had to tell her maybe not. I told her we planned on coming all along but that Kevin had told his mom he would lay tile in her house the weekend his dad was out of town golfing. Well I didn't realize his annual golf outing was the same weekend. So, I told her Kevin probably couldn't come and I didn't know if I would be in town or not. I said we were going on Friday and that I had to come back Saturday morning to take Maddie to dance at 9am and that I may go back or might not. Anyway, she said that she understood and that it would mean a lot to her husband if we were there. Than my next door neighbor emailed me asking me if I found a sitter and I said no and that I wasn't that concerned since I probably wouldn't go. She said well if I was back that we could just take shifts going to the party. She said her husband offered to watch our girls first and that we could come back and he would go. Well, whatever. Anyway, so I did stay in town after her dance class and went over to my neighbors at 5pm in order to be at the other neighbor's at 5:15. We walked over together and I about died even though it is right around the corner......and I felt hot and sweaty and ready to take a nap. Well........I kept saying should I bring him beer or what and my neighbor said no and she wasn't bringing anything. So...okay. Well, we got to the house of the party..Kim's and I said...wow they are loud. I could hear guys in the garage and could see people in the kitchen window. I said that was weird and my neighbor walking with me, Dione, said that maybe Kim wasn't bringing her husband home for a while just to make sure everyone was there. So, we go in and all the girls are in the kitchen looking at me and I saw Kim. I asked her why she was there and she said.......well.........and than my other friend walked down the hall so they were all in the kitchen and she said...surprise. I said.......what? And they said..........surprise.......and I said okay. They said.......it's your shower! I didn't even see the diaper cake sitting on the table or the cupcakes with duckies and rattles and safety pins on them sitting on the counter. They planned this 4 months ago and I had no clue. And...little did I know...her husband's birthday is in June. It was a couples shower..but the guys hung out in the garage. Even this one guy from Milwaukee that always comes to hang out with everyone brought me a gift. I was like in tears....shocked and happy. So, I got my shower after all..........thank goodness I dressed up somewhat. I ended up wearing jeans and a nice shirt...even had on a bracelet, necklace, and earrings....I had thought about wearing pj's. lol. They said if I would have come in pjs they would have all ran home and put theirs on. I am so fortunate to have good friends. They didn't think I would come if it wasn't a surprise...whatever! They said..didn't you think we would do something and I said...I didn't know. Anyway, got a bunch of stuff from my registry and stuff that is awesome that wasn't on it. Yay! It was awesome. I didn't come home until 11:30 at night...just sitting around talking and stuff and when I went to get up...I couldn't feel my feet they were so swollen. I couldn't get my shoes on and they had to drive me home. :o) Oh well...I still can't believe it. Now they want to go get pedicures in the beginning of May as our next girls night out...so that I will have nice toes for when I go to the hospital. But, my friend from work and I were going to go....so not sure what I will do....I hate having to choose. My friend took pictures for me and they gave me one of the invites for my baby book. I am so happy. I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends...I am truly blessed! (Kevin didn't have a clue about this until they called him after I said we probably wouldn't be there. They told him it was important that I be there...twice before he caught on.) Kevin did show up a little while later after he finished up at his mom's house.......
