Bee Sting

Today was such a long day...thank goodness it is Friday.

Well, the inevitable happened...I got stung by a bee...or a wasp. Not sure exactly. I have only been stung once by one of those tiny tiny hard to see bees when I was really young. I hate bees...and now even more so. I was driving..in my car that doesn't have AC...windows down. Well, not far from home I felt something on my arm. I brushed it off. I still felt it. Brushed it again. So, I looked at my arm right below by elbow. Nice...there it was...a stinger...stuck in my arm. Okay, this is Melanie you are talking about...I freaked a little. If there was ever a time that someone should or could or whatever have an anxiety attack...that would be it. I managed to get the stinger out..while driving. However, it was difficult so I pretty much stopped in the middle of a four way intersection (stops signs not lights) to get it out. And..I headed straight back home. At first I thought, oh these don't hurt. Yeah, never mind that. It hurt. I tried to remain as calm as possible around Madison. Hard to do. It didn't swell up like I thought it would but it all got tight and the rest of my arm down including fingers felt numb. Weird! Anyway, since I forgot that gasoline or mud is the best thing...I used baking soda. I did decide to venture out in my car again to finish my errands. Okay, not my idea of a great day!

Appointment Rescheduled

Well, Madison did not go see the plastic surgeon today. They called and cancelled. The appointment has been rescheduled for August 13th.

Madison has been taking ballet/tap/jazz and absolutely loves it. She only has two more classes and the summer session will end. We can't believe how well she is doing since we didn't have her enrolled in dance before this summer. She has learned two complete routines for two songs: tap - song from High School Musical & ballet - song from The Lion King. We are so proud...momma gets tears watching her sometimes. She listens so well to the teachers and hardly ever gets distracted. So, we have decided that we will sign her up for the fall session which will start the last week in August and run through the school year. Her recital will be in June.

And...to sum it all up.....she starts preschool in exactly one month. Crazy isn't it? Unfortunately since she misses the cutoff of September 1st she will not be able to be in four year old preschool...she will instead be in the three year old program. But, to Madison..it doesn't matter as long as she gets to go to "pretty school" soon.
