Last night was Girls Night Out. My friend/neighbor, Lisa, and I did the planning. We haven't gotten together for a real girls night out in a couple months. So it was time.
The turn out was great...8 of us went. We left in a van (6 passengers) and a car (2 passengers). We went to Olive Garden for dinner at 7pm. Yum!! Several of us started out with....drum roll please......a Pomegranate Margarita Martini...........wow!! They were delicious! Our waitress was from Jamaica. She was awesome! She was hilarious talking about Wisconsin...I asked her if I could ever tell people I was from Jamaica. She simply stated..."no." Wouldn't that be great? To tell people you were from Jamaica or some fun place if someone asked where you were from? At least I don't tell people I am from Wisconsin....lol....I am from COLORADO! But I loved her accent and she talked to us for quite a while. Of course we (the waitress and I) were on the same side when we were all talking about how people talk in Wisconsin and the best part....she could tell I wasn't from Wisconsin. Whew!!! I know things are starting to stick after having lived here since 1999. But, at least not completely. Oh what a fun conversation we had. Oh and get this....when 3 of us (one being myself) ordered what we wanted to eat....what did we say..."I'll take what is in the picture"..or "the picture please" or "the picture sounds good." Well..it looked good. Oh the fun we have!
After dinner......oh wow...we were cutting it close for dinner. The movie we wanted to see started at 9:25pm. It was around 9:20 when we all piled into one car. Yes, that is right - we squeezed into the car...7 of us. My neighbor that drove the van didn't plan on going to the movie. Hm...and what were we thinking? It was fun...3 in front and 4 in back. Hey Em your car is pretty roomy!! I didn't feel squished.
We made it to the movie a little late...however, the movie hadn't started yet. We got there right before it started...right between the previews and the start of the movie. Talk about great timing. Oh...yes...the movie we saw was The Women. Kind of fitting...7 women watching The Women. I haven't watched a movie at the theatre since before I was pregnant with Madison. So...over 6 years I bet. Unless you count going to watch Over The Hedge with Madison that was put on by my work at a theatre. Nope..not the same.
What a fun night...we did miss our friends/neighbors that weren't able to join us.......
